Waupaca County Traffic Court Records
Waupaca County splits traffic cases across three paths. Wisconsin Circuit Court takes criminal traffic and circuit forfeiture cases. Municipal ordinance and civil traffic matters go to Northern Waupaca County Joint Municipal Court or New London-Weyauwega Joint Municipal Court, whichever covers the community where the ticket was issued. Criminal cases, though, stay out of municipal court.
Where a case file sits depends on the path. The Waupaca County Clerk of Circuit Courts keeps circuit traffic records, and those can carry a WCCA summary. A municipal file stays with the joint municipal clerk. The citation itself names the issuing agency, the case or citation number, the court, the appearance date, and how to respond, which makes it the best routing document for any docket search.
For scale, the 2024 state report lists 148 criminal-traffic filings, far fewer than the forfeiture categories. It also counts 2,474 uncontested and 661 contested traffic cases opened. Those are workload figures, not findings about any person.
Three Waupaca Traffic Paths
Circuit criminal traffic, circuit forfeiture, and municipal ordinance cases are three different things. Any of them can produce a court record. The court, the public lookup, the plea procedure, the payment system, and the copy source all differ from one path to the next.
| Path | Record holder | Starting point |
|---|---|---|
| Circuit criminal traffic | Waupaca County Clerk of Circuit Courts | WCCA or clerk |
| Circuit traffic or forfeiture | Waupaca County Clerk of Circuit Courts | Citation, WCCA, or clerk |
| Municipal ordinance or civil traffic | Named joint municipal court | Citation and municipal office |
The official Wisconsin municipal-court function page shown below explains the municipal and circuit boundary.

A municipal citation, under state rules, is not automatically a circuit criminal docket.
Looking Up a Traffic Ticket
Waupaca County offers no standalone portal for searching municipal citations online. A circuit ticket can be found through WCCA. Municipal tickets need the citation itself. They can also be handled with a call to the court office. Note that AllPaid and GovPayNow take payments. They are not docket databases.
- Read the citation and identify the issuing municipality, court, number, appearance date, and mandatory status.
- For a circuit case, search WCCA by case number or name with Waupaca County selected.
- If WCCA does not resolve a circuit ticket, call 715-258-6460 or visit the clerk counter.
- For Northern Waupaca, call 715-823-7609 or use its official records page.
- For New London-Weyauwega, call 920-982-8508 and follow the citation instructions.
- Confirm the date, plea status, balance, and response route with the correct court.
A public terminal at the courthouse is another way to search circuit records. Municipal clerks can look up their own cases from citation details, but the courts post no online name or citation form for the public.
Waupaca Circuit Traffic Instructions
The official county traffic page sorts citations into mandatory and nonmandatory appearances. A mandatory appearance means showing up at the stated place and time. Paying online is not a substitute for that direction from the court.
The county's own page sets out the Waupaca County circuit ticket procedure.

The county page also covers the timely mail route for a nonmandatory citation. It links official forms for asking to reopen a default judgment.
How to Find Your Traffic Court Date
The citation's printed appearance information comes first. For a circuit case, check it against the latest WCCA court activity. If an entry was reset, call the clerk. For a municipal case, confirm the date with the joint court named on the ticket.
| Citation or case number | The routing identifier printed on the ticket, illustrated safely as citation number; no universal local format was documented. |
|---|---|
| Court | Waupaca County Circuit Court or the named joint municipal court. |
| Date and time | The required initial appearance or later hearing setting. |
| Location or method | The court address or other officially stated format. |
| Appearance status | Whether attendance is mandatory or the cited person may use the stated response route. |
| Latest activity | A continuance, reset, default, plea, hearing, or disposition shown by the court. |
A scheduled event proves nothing about what happened. Later docket entries and current notices tell the real story. Only the court confirms changes.
Mandatory Waupaca Traffic Appearances
If the Waupaca County citation marks the appearance as mandatory, go to the listed place. Go at the stated time too. Nonmandatory circuit citations work differently. The county says a not-guilty request can be mailed before the court date. Include a copy of the citation. Add your current address and a statement asking for that plea. The court then mails back the next place, date, and time.
Follow the citation: Under the county's stated mail procedure, a person does not appear on the original date after making the timely written request as instructed.
This is process information only. No plea should be read as recommended here, since the official source does not authorize that. Municipal tickets follow their own court's instructions.
Pay or Contest a Ticket
Paying and contesting create different court activity. Confirm the consequences, the deadline, and the accepted channel with the right court first.
| Point | Paying | Contesting |
|---|---|---|
| Response | Uses the court's approved payment route | Enters the permitted not-guilty response |
| Timing | By the citation or court deadline | Before the date when using Waupaca County's mail procedure |
| Next record event | Payment and disposition activity may post | The court sets or mails the next hearing information |
| Channel | Circuit WCCA payment or correct municipal vendor | Correct court in person or in writing as instructed |
For circuit fines, the clerk says to enter just a first and last name plus Waupaca County on the WCCA payment page. That page is not a case-search portal.
Missed date or default: Contact the court promptly. Waupaca County links a motion and proposed order to seek reopening of a traffic default; a judge decides the request, and filing it does not guarantee reopening.
WCCA Payment Is Not Search
The official WCCA payment page shows a fine-payment entry screen, not a full docket search.

A payment match is not the full Waupaca County traffic record. It is not a certified copy either. Use WCCA case search for public circuit history. Use the clerk for actual file documents. Payment systems can add service fees. They can also change their secure fields. Check that the county and case match the citation before sending money.
Traffic Court Record vs Driving Record
Two different offices hold these two files. The court record covers the citation proceeding. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation keeps the driving record. So a Waupaca County court search is never a complete DOT history.
| Point | Court traffic record | Driving record |
|---|---|---|
| Custodian | Circuit clerk or municipal court | Wisconsin Department of Transportation |
| Content | Citation, plea, activity, hearing, disposition, fine | State licensing record and reportable driving history |
| Access | WCCA or issuing court request | WisDOT record process |
| Boundary | One court matter and its file | Not supplied by a court-file copy |
A court lookup cannot stand in for the full state record. Knowing the distinction simply routes you to the right office.
Northern Waupaca Ticket Payments
Northern Waupaca County Joint Municipal Court serves Clintonville, Manawa, Marion, Iola, and Ogdensburg. Its listed payment options are cash in person at the Clintonville Police Department. Checks or money orders can be mailed to the court. AllPaid with PLC 5470 is also accepted. A service fee may apply to the payer. The official Northern Waupaca payment page lays out these options for Waupaca County traffic payments.

Those payment choices belong to that joint municipal court alone. They will not pay a circuit fine or a New London-Weyauwega citation.
For the municipal case file, use the official Northern Waupaca records page or call 715-823-7609. Juvenile municipal records carry added access limits.
New London-Weyauwega Traffic Tickets
New London and Weyauwega run one municipal court together. It sits in New London City Hall at 215 N. Shawano Street, New London, WI 54961. Call 920-982-8508 with any question about a ticket. The court offers no online citation search. Your best tools are the ticket itself and the clerk on the phone.
The Weyauwega Police Department court page explains how to pay. It also shows how to reach the court office.

That police department page lays out a drop-box option along with in-office payment, and it lists GovPayNow code 5306. Need more time? It also tells you how to ask for an extension, a payment plan, or an indigency review before your court date. Vendor fees can change, so confirm current charges before you pay.
Copies and Fees
Want a copy of a Waupaca County circuit traffic file? The county charges $1.25 per page. There is also $5.00 to certify it. Prepay through AllPaid location 1630, and allow up to ten business days for the copy. Remember that a record copy and the traffic fine itself are two separate payments.
| Item | Amount or route | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Circuit document page | $1.25 | County request workflow |
| Circuit certification | $5.00 | Clerk-authenticated copy |
| Northern Waupaca payment | AllPaid PLC 5470 | Municipal fine channel, not copy certification |
| New London-Weyauwega payment | GovPayNow 5306 | Municipal payment channel |
For a municipal court ticket, ask the issuing court directly what a record copy costs. The municipal copy fee, transcript rate, mailing charge, and every vendor fee are not published in one place. Guessing at amounts only causes problems, so get the number from the clerk first.
Waupaca County Traffic Record Checks
Whatever a court sends back, read the actual record before assuming what happens next. A payment receipt is not a certified file. A mailed plea request does not become a court date by itself. It takes effect only once the judge's staff processes it and mails you the setting. So keep your citation, receipt, letters, and case number in one folder.
Not sure which court issued the ticket? The court name and address printed on it settles that question. Never pick a vendor code just because it seems close by. Northern Waupaca uses PLC 5470. New London-Weyauwega materials list code 5306. Circuit-level payments go through the WCCA channel the county describes.
